BECOME A CHILD PROTECTION DONOR

Who We ARE

In 2003, Action Pour Les Enfants (APLE) was established in Phnom Penh, Cambodia as an international NGO. Initially, APLE assisted the police with investigations into street-based child sexual abuse and exploitation and provided pro-bono legal support to victims and their families. As APLE gained more knowledge and expertise in combating child sexual abuse, its operations expanded.

Report it, Don't ignore it.

If you come across child sexual abuse material online (CSAM), report it. You can also call our Hotline 092 311 511 to talk to our Hotline analyst and seek help.

What We Do

With 5.6 percent of boys and 4.4 percent of girls experiencing at least one incident of sexual abuse before the age of 18; the prevalence rate of sexual abuse goes up to 38 percent within vulnerable populations such as street children.

Our four interconnected programs seek to enhance social and national mechanisms for the protection of affected children.

Criminal Justice Development (Law Enforcement)

Encompassing the work for which APLE is best known for, and is founded on the belief that strengthening the criminal justice system is the highest priority in achieving long-term sustainable change.

Court Support Program (Social & Legal Direct Services)

Providing legal service and psycho-social support for victims and their families affected by abuse, thus enabling them to pursue justice in a child-friendly way while minimising the risk of further trauma and re-victimisation.

Community Engagement

Disseminating knowledge to the general population through the identification and engagement of key members of communities as well as the provision of education & training on how to prevent sexual abuse and exploitation of children.

Research and Advocacy

Disseminating evidence based findings and recommendations to strengthen advocacy for positive changes in laws and the criminal justice process and inform APLE and other stakeholders of areas requiring further attention.
