The Research and Advocacy Program recognises the importance of using evidence to underpin APLE Cambodia’s work and strategic focus.
It is the newest of APLE’s four programs and a variety of research initiatives have already been generated to analyse previous trends and explore emerging areas of importance.
The knowledge and experience generated through such research will provide an evidence base which is currently lacking; this will strengthen advocacy for positive changes in laws and the criminal justice process, will inform APLE and other NGOs of areas requiring further investigation and attention, and may also provide transferable knowledge which may be of value to other countries with similar problems.
