Project Accounting Assistant
APLE Cambodia is a child protection NGO, established in 2003, working dedicatedly to combating the sexual abuse and exploitation of children in Cambodia. APLE’s mission is to strengthen social and legal mechanisms for the protection of children at risk of, or affected by, sexual abuse and exploitation. APLE is now seeking a highly qualified candidate for the full time position of Project Accounting Assistant to be based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Duties and Responsibilities
Preparing monthly and annual tax declarations and NSSF/pension funds
Maintaining cashbooks and conducting regular cash counts
Communicating with banks to collect necessary documents and handling bank reconciliations
Maintaining all projects expenditure records
Providing administrative support to the projects’ operational team
Tracking project actuals against budgets
Preparing timely and accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
Processing invoices, purchase orders, expense reports, and other transactions
Conducting project cost analysis and identifying opportunities for cost savings
Ensuring compliance with organizational and donor financial policies

Proficiency with accounting software like QuickBooks and project management tools
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with an ability to exercise sound judgment
Excellent organizational abilities with an ability to handle multiple, competing priorities
Polished communication skills, both written and verbal
A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ethical integrity
Education and Experience
A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2-3 years of project accounting experience, preferably in the non-profit sector
