Our mission is to strengthen national social and legal systems for the protection of children at risk of, or affected by, sexual abuse and exploitation.

Why We Exist

Devastation of Sexual Abuse in Childhood

Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) is a global epidemic that impacts the lives of millions of children around the world. The impact of CSAE can be devastating with consequences prolonging years after abuse/exploitation occurred, potentially leading to a multitude of psychosocial and economic factors. Despite these implications, many children and families are either reluctant or unaware of how to seek help following abuse and even fewer engage with justice procedures.

Impact of Victimization

Children who are victims of sexual abuse or exploitation require a wide range of support and services to support their recovery and to ensure they receive justice through the legal process. Although increased efforts have been made to support affected children within the justice process, systems often remain inadequate. Insufficient response and lack of considerations to children’s specific needs throughout the criminal justice procedure, can further amplify the negative impact of the abuse, and lead to lack of engagement with the justice system.
