APLE Cambodia and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) continue their commitment to empowering front-line educational workers in the fight against online child sexual exploitation and abuse. This empowerment took place during a training session focused on prevention and response strategies, which was jointly organized for 72 participants (45 female) including pre-service teachers and educational workers at Battambang Teacher Education College (BTEC) on March 27-28, 2025.
The training, financially supported by Bread for the World, Terre des Hommes Germany, OneChild, and the World Childhood Foundation, aims to enhance knowledge and skills regarding prevention and response to online child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Participants also developed dissemination plans to educate other students at primary and secondary levels. Six groups presented their plans to receive direct feedback from trainers, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
This marks the second training session organized by the Legislation Department and APLE, following a successful first session in Kandal, in accordance with the memorandum of understanding on the implementation of the “Promoting Internet Safety in Education” project for the years 2024-2027.
