APLE held a full-day workshop on September 26, in Kep province, supported by Brot für die Welt, aimed at equipping 86 sub-national government officers with the skills and knowledge necessary to tackle Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse. The participants, who included education officers, social service professionals, and local authorities from Kep and Kampot provinces, engaged in dynamic discussions to address the challenges and explore solutions related to OCSEA.
Divided into two groups, the attendees delved into focused discussions that provided in-depth insights into practical methods for effective communication of core messages and the implementation of preventative education initiatives within their communities and school environments. By the end of the workshop, participants were equipped with strategies and materials designed to drive immediate and concrete actions to safeguard children against OCSEA.
In addition to the training, schools across both provinces received educational materials to help disseminate these crucial topics further, ensuring that the knowledge and strategies reach a broader audience. This initiative marks a significant step in strengthening community resilience and proactive measures against online threats to children’s safety.
