APLE Executive Director joins INTERPOL training on content analysis in Lyon

Mr. Samleang Seila, Executive Director of APLE Cambodia, took part in a two-week training and exchange on content analysis at INTERPOL Headquarters in Lyon, France. The programme ran from 9 to 18 September 2026.

Content analysis is a core skill in identifying child victims of sexual exploitation and abuse online. It turns what investigators see in images and videos into leads that can help remove illegal materials and/or locate and protect children.

Effective child protection depends on partnership. Law enforcement, government, civil society and international organisations each hold part of the response, and children are best protected when they work together.

APLE brought its experience from Cambodia to the exchange through its ground-to-global approach. Frontline lessons from Cambodian communities, investigators and survivors informed discussions at international level. Insights from the training will in turn strengthen how APLE works with the Cambodian authorities and its partners at home.

As part of the global network working to combat child sexual abuse material (CSAM), APLE supports law enforcement agencies in identifying victims and holding offenders legally accountable.

Every child has the right to be safe, heard and protected. APLE remains committed to working with all stakeholders to make that a reality.
