Meeting at the Siem Reap Provincial Hall addresses online child sexual exploitation and the sexual exploitation of children in travel and tourism

The APLE team was received by the Secretariat of the Siem Reap Provincial Committee for Counter Trafficking (PCCT) on the afternoon of Thursday, 30 July 2026, for a courtesy meeting and working discussion at the Siem Reap Provincial Hall. The meeting aimed to explore common ground and strengthen collaboration in preventing and combating human trafficking and child exploitation.

H.E. Morny Rangsey, Deputy Provincial Governor and Permanent Vice-Chair of the PCCT, chaired the meeting, which brought together the heads of all six PCCT technical working groups and their colleagues, alongside the APLE team led by Mr. Samleang Seila, APLE’s Executive Director.

Both sides agreed to continue strengthening their cooperation in implementing the National Strategic Plan against Human Trafficking, in alignment with APLE’s five-year Strategic Plan (2026–2030). Discussions focused on protecting children from online sexual exploitation and abuse and preventing the sexual exploitation of children in travel and tourism, with a shared commitment to expanding education and awareness efforts across public and private educational institutions, local communities, and tourism areas.

APLE extends its sincere appreciation to the PCCT for its leadership and coordination, and to the six technical working groups for their active engagement. APLE remains committed to deepening this partnership to advance the protection of children.
