APLE representative Im Sreykeo joins high-level discussions in Vienna, delivering a statement to UNODC on the growing threat of online child sexual exploitation

APLE brought ground-level experience and survivor voices from Cambodia to the global policy stage this week, as APLE representative Ms. Im Sreykeo participated as a panelist at the 35th session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), held at the Vienna International Centre from 1 to 5 June 2026.

In high-level discussions organised by the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC), Ms. Im Sreykeo shared on-the-ground evidence of the efforts, opportunities, and barriers to protecting children, and called for stronger support from civil society, internet service providers, governments, families, and the international community.

APLE also delivered a statement to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), drawing urgent attention to the growing threat of online child sexual exploitation in Cambodia and globally. The statement called for stronger international cooperation, particularly from the private sector and internet service providers, to strengthen child protection systems and combat technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation.
