Meeting with Police Commissioner Major General Hout Sothy addresses human trafficking and child sexual exploitation and abuse in Siem Reap Province

The APLE team, led by Mr. Samleang Seila, Executive Director, was received by Major General Hout Sothy, Commissioner of the Siem Reap Provincial Police Commissariat, on Thursday, 30 July 2026, for a courtesy meeting and working discussion to strengthen the child protection partnership between the two institutions.

The meeting provided an opportunity for APLE to learn about the Commissariat’s ongoing efforts and the challenges it faces in combating human trafficking and child sexual exploitation and abuse in Siem Reap Province.

The discussion highlighted a shared commitment to strengthening cooperation between the two institutions across several key areas, including capacity building, technological support, the promotion of child-friendly practices, case referral coordination, and crime prevention campaigns.

APLE deeply appreciates the Commissariat’s leadership and dedication to protecting children, and looks forward to continuing this valued partnership.
