Community engagement coordinator

Action Pour Les Enfants (APLE Cambodia) is a leading child protection organisation, dedicatedly working to combat child sexual abuse and exploitation in Cambodia. APLE’s mission is to strengthen the social and legal mechanisms for the protection of children at risk of or affected by child sexual abuse and/or exploitation. We’re currently recruiting a new staff member to join our Community Engagement Team.

Location: Phnom Penh

Schedule: Full-time

Salary: Negotiable

Report to: Community Engagement Team Leader

Contract period: Minimum one year (renewal)

Main duties and responsibilities.

  • Provide the Team Leader with general and technical supports in the management and delivery of the Community Engagement’s stated objectives and strategy
  • Coordinate all the Community Engagement’s key interventions as well as top-down and bottom-up communications across the team and other programmatic areas
  • Supervise the day-to-day tasks and logistical arrangements of the program team and liaise with the Team Leader
  • Assist the Team Leader in the conduct of program planning, M&E and reporting, including the monitoring of progresses against plan, data collection and management, data analysis as well as a regular milestone assessment
  • Be responsible for external communication, including the responsibility to act as a focal point for the program, and networking at national and sub-national levels as assigned by the Team Leader     
  • Provide inputs for service mapping, including a sound evaluation of service locations, needs of the target beneficiaries, stakeholder’s engagements and priorities
  • Support the design, development and dissemination of training, awareness raising, information and other community engagement activities
  • Conduct organization-wide and beneficiary capacity building needs assessment and identify skill or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
  • Provide direct assistance to the Team Leader to assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of program strategy
  • Maintain and update program data in hard and digital forms

REQUIRED Skills, Education, Experience and Competences

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in management, development, education and other related fields
  • Proven work experience as a Community Engagement Coordinator, Training Coordinator, Trainer, Facilitator or similar role
  • Hands-on experience coordinating multiple events in a corporate setting
  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation
  • Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools
  • Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods and techniques
  • Experience with e-learning platforms
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Trustworthy, humble, creative, active team player and good at managing people
  • Strong interest in team working and building the capacity of others
  • Ability to motivate, be flexible, and foster openness and creativity
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills
