PHNOM PENH – APLE staff joined more than 4,000 others on 14 December 2015 at Koh Pich Theater in Phnom Penh to celebrate the Day of Prayer and Action for Children. The participants included religious leaders from Buddhist, Christian, and Muslim faiths, government officials, NGO members, as well as children and youth.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Cult and Religion, in collaboration with UNICEF. Speaking to the participants, the Cambodian Prime Minister and other representatives expressed their support for the celebration and encouraged all religious leaders to commemorate the occasion every year to promote inter-faith dialogue and collaboration to protect children.

As a child protection organization, APLE Cambodia was glad to join as the event showed commitment to children in the country. Our organization will continue to join hands with relevant stakeholders to protect children in Cambodia.
