In 2016, Training of Trainers (ToT) approach is the main focus of APLE Cambodia in order to strengthen the real capacity of teachers, NGO partners and other stakeholders to better protect children.
In August 2016, the training team of APLE was invited to provide a one-day training course on offline and online child sexual abuse and exploitation to 17 personnel of Anjali House shelter and other NGOs in Siem Reap province. The course outlined the topic of both offline and online child sexual abuse and exploitation, and reporting channel, the phone and internet hotline, which enable them to seek help if needed.
“The course is helpful and especially the online part, which is very new to us. I will spread the knowledge I have learnt to others, especially our children,” said a female participant after the course.
On 5 September 2016, Anjali House shelter organized its first course to share the knowledge gained from the training with 24 teens on the above-mentioned topic in the province. The course went well and the organization also received positive feedback from the participants. Anjali House shelter will further organize more awareness and training courses in the future for children and teens.
