Action Pour Les Enfants (APLE Cambodia) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), recognized in the field of child protection in Cambodia. For the last 20 years, APLE has dedicatedly worked to combat the sexual abuse and exploitation of children, and its mission is to strengthen national social and legal mechanisms for the protection of children at risk of, or affected by, child sexual abuse and exploitation. We’re currently hiring a highly qualified candidate to join our dynamic team as a Community Engagement Coordinator working on the ‘Protection Plus’ project funded by PLAN International Cambodia.

- Report to: Community Engagement Team Leader
- Contract period: 12 months (renewable)
- Start date: Immediately
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support the management and implementation of all community engagement activities, including training, awareness raising, educational campaigns, learning workshops, etc., working with the various stakeholders in governmental and non-governmental settings
- Lead, conduct and facilitate training, awareness raising and other learning/ educational workshops with children, adolescents, youth, parents, frontline social workers, local authorities, etc. on issues related to offline/online child sexual abuse and exploitation and prevention measures
- Provide administrative assistance to the Community Engagement Team Leader in program planning, monitoring and evaluation, reporting and learning
- Plan, direct and assist with the training needs assessment and development of age-appropriate, gender-sensitive training material, campaign messaging and communications around child protection and online safety
- Conduct targeted physical and social media dissemination activities regarding informational, educational, communicational (IEC) material approved by the management, using the established channels
- Support the program work on data collection and analysis for milestone assessment, donor report, documentation of lessons learned, and identification of areas to recommend improvement
- Prepare and maintain records, program documents, training manuals, IEC materials, surveys, minutes, reports, etc.
- Establish and maintain contacts and relationship with other groups, agencies and organisations working in the community to meet community needs and ensure services are available and not duplicated
- Provide support in program budget planning and administration
- Supervise, support and evaluate the work of other Community Engagement staff (if any)
- Perform other related tasks when required
Education Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in management, development, education and/or related fields
- Proven work experience as a community engagement manager, worker, coordinator, trainer, facilitator, or similar role
- Committed person with compassion to working with different kinds of people
- Ability to give full attention to people’s needs and to use logic and reason
- Hands-on experience coordinating multiple events
- Ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
- Strong interest in teamwork and capacity building of others
- Ability to motivate, be flexible, and foster openness and creativity
- Ability to manage own time and the time of others
- Excellent interpersonal, communication skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English
