Job title: Legal Assistant
Location: Phnom Penh
Schedule: Full-time

Report to: Victim Support and Assistance Team Leader
Contract period: One year (renewal)
Main duties and responsibilities.
Provide a full range of quality legal services, including legal counseling, legal assistance, and crisis support, to clients under the direction of the ViSA team leader and/or a lawyer.
Facilitate and coordinate with clients and NGO partners to schedule meetings for legal case discussions and legal counseling sessions.
Process case filings in court and obtain copies of court documents.
Prepare and support clients for their court appearance, including accompanying them during their interviews and when they testify.
Attend court hearings, when allowed, to observe child-friendly practices in the courtroom and provide feedback.
Keep track of case updates as directed by the lawyers.
Keep clients updated on the case status and any changes, as needed and when permitted.
Provide legal case briefings and case updates to the team when required.
Enter, update, and keep client and case information current in the database and Case Management System.
Maintain and organize court files and legal documents to ensure easy retrieval and accuracy.
REQUIRED Skills, Education, Experience and Competences
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in law and other related fields
Mature and committed person with compassion to working with different kinds of people.
Trustworthy, humble, creative, active team player and good at managing people.
Strong interest in working together with and building the capacity of others.
Ability to motivate, flexibility, openness and creativity.
